Nomination

Once the applicant is nominated, the BC PNP will do the following:

  1. Send the applicant (or the applicant’s authorized representative) a letter confirming his/her acceptance as a British Columbia Provincial Nominee, together with instructions on applying for a Canadian permanent resident visa. For approved Strategic Projects applicants, we will also send a copy of the letters of acceptance to the sponsoring company.

  2. Send the nominee’s Nomination Certificate and Information Release Form to the appropriate visa office of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)

    After receiving the letter of acceptance, the nominee
    is responsible for completing and submitting a
    complete permanent visa application to the
    appropriate visa office of CIC. This must be done
    within 180 days of the date on the Nomination
    Certificate.

Withdrawal of Provincial Nomination

The Province of BC may withdraw its Certificate of Nomination at any time prior to CIC issuing a Permanent Resident Visa if:
  1. The nominee or any accompanying dependent is deemed inadmissible by CIC for medical, security or criminality reasons
  2. The Province discovers that information provided in the BC PNP application is false or misrepresented
  3. The Province is advised that information provided in the nominee’s permanent resident visa application is false or misrepresented
  4. The nominee is deemed to be no longer residing in BC
